If you are interested in writing about music, I want to invite you to write a guest article for this blog.  Here are the details.

What benefit will you get?
You will get exposure.  Approximately 10,000 different people read this blog at least once a month, and the vast majority are musicians.  So, if you write music, perform music, or teach music, an article here could help you.  If you do blog or have a Facebook artist page, this can drive some traffic your way.

What benefit will I get?

The more quality content I can publish, the better.  If you send me a quality article and I publish it, I will definitely benefit.

What should you write about?
Anything that has to do with music.  I will give you some insight though.  The most popular posts here are the free stuff posts and those are closely followed by the how-to posts.  If you have a free arrangement or recording you want to introduce, that would be great.  If you can write some tips for musicians, that would be great too.  There are a wide range of topics that fall into that category, many of which I have never attempted to cover here for various reasons.

The least popular posts I write concern the so-called worship wars.  In fact, please don't send any articles dealing with church music standards and worship wars.   You would be surprised how many people just are tired of that topic and will immediately tune you out.

Will you publish something you disagree with?
Yes, as long as you are not writing about worship wars or something extreme that I just can't get comfortable with.  Otherwise, if you want to challenge something that I have written about here in the past, feel free.

Do you get a link?
Of course. You will get a short bio and a link or two.

What else do I need to know?
Keep the articles on the shorter side (maybe 1000 words or less), but I am not going to disqualify a good post just because it is long.

Please do not send me something that you have published somewhere else (including your own blog).  And be aware that I will not necessarily post every article I get.  I will let you know within three days of receiving your article whether I am going to use it or not.  If I do choose to publish it, I want to have the exclusive right to do so.  If I choose not to use it, you are certainly welcome to publish it anywhere else you wish.

Send the articles to greg at greghowlett.com.   If you want to run an idea by me before investing the time in the article, feel free to contact me about that as well.

Will you do me a personal favor?
If you use Facebook, please take a moment and comment on this post. I appreciate the feedback and doing this helps other people learn about my resources. Non-Facebook users can leave comments using the alternate form below.
