The Bates family was in Atlanta over the weekend for the premiere of The Solomon Bunch and I managed to coax Erin Bates (recording artist) over to our house for some interview material.  She brought a few sisters (Tori and Alyssa) with her who did not get on camera but did find ways to keep us laughing the entire time.

I talked with Erin about her musical background, her family, her recordings and their upcoming show on TLC.  I will be posting a series of 4 or 5 segments on YouTube over the next few weeks.

For those who were watching the live stream, I am sorry about the late start and some other problems we had.  The setup took longer than expected and we had some internet problems at the house.  I live in the country and our internet connection is not really consistent.

I know that many people have fallen in love with the Bates just because of their exposure on "19 Kids and Counting" and they will get much more popular now that they are starting their own show.  But I can assure you that they are even more charming in person.  They all like to talk (some more than others and yes I am talking about you Tori:)) and they are hilarious.

Here are some pictures.

After we finished, I played some of the stuff I am working on for my new project and got some brutally honest feedback from the sisters.  Don't be fooled by the smiles; they were hard on me. But they did promise they are coming to my live taping concert in August.
