I am currently involved in another marathon which involves writing out all of the arrangements from Portraits of Hope in Finale.
There are 927 bars (measures) on that project and I can write about 30 bars an hour. That is not very fast, but it is the best I can do. I work on it an hour or two starting at 11:00 every night, and as of last night, I have finished 413 bars.
I am thinking that I can finish in about two weeks and get the music to an engraver who will format it for publishing. My guess is that I will have the book available for sale sometime in May.
As you might guess, the arrangements do not stand alone. They are all written to be played with an orchestra. That is why I am also going to sell the orchestration tracks that I use in concerts along with the book. I need to do just a bit of work on those to get them ready but that should happen over the next few weeks.
Four of the arrangements are really duets betwen piano and one other instrument. One is for violin, another is violin and/or oboe, another is for flute, and the last is for cello. Those arrangements will have the other instrument's part included so that if you have those instruments in your church, you can play live with them.
Will you do me a personal favor?
