I am a little too busy to write much of anything meaningful, but here are some random things I have been working on or thinking about.

Recording
I am a month away from recording in Nashville.  I am now recording 2 full projects plus tracks for 4 more songs that I am going to use just in concerts.  That is 24 songs in all and about 2 hours worth of music.  Frankly, it is insane for me to try to do this, especially when I am doing my live concert taping two weeks later.

Live concert taping
Speaking of that live concert event, I am ecstatic about special guests that are going to be performing.  I am wrapping up some loose ends but will announce them soon.  I was in Charleston on Wednesday working on setup such as sound, lighting, and placement.  I also tried out and immediately rented a fabulous 9' concert Yamaha.  I am always scared to test a Yamaha because I often find them too bright but this one is perfect.

Jackie Evancho
Everybody has already seen this performance on America's Got Talent, but watch it if you haven't.  The fact that her voice is so polished at that age is just amazing.  Vocalists would describe it as "covered", a sound you would associate with opera.  I have never before heard anyone sing like that at her age.

I am not going to say that is my favorite style of music or something I would listen to all the time, but who cares?  Her parents have apparently done an incredible job raising a little girl with that level of discipline, humility and charm.

Reharmonization videos
I said that I was going to post one a week and that lasted for two whole weeks.  But I am going to delay that until I get these other big projects off my plate.

Contest winners
Don't forget about the Facebook contest with a winner every Friday.  Right now, there are fewer participants/week so the chance of winning is good.  It has been good for me because I have data that helps me understand what people like me to write about (tips for playing the piano and personal stuff) and what they don't want me to write about (music wars and politics).

Will you do me a personal favor?
