Don't become unduly pessimistic! As I see it, were business men all over the land to show the white feather, to withdraw into their shells, to curtail enterprise and employment drastically, the government would feel obligated to carry its domination, dictation, inflation, not to say confiscation, very much farther. An ever-day phrase in Britain, born during the war and still actively in vogue, is "carry on." The United States must carry on.
There are a lot of similarities between that time and today and pessimism is very high right now. As I read Forbes and other business magazines, I have to notice that there is apparently very little good news to report.
These last three years have been extremely difficult and there is no guarantee that the bad times are over. I have watched dramatic changes in the past few years in the business sector that I would not have imagined would every happen.
But businesses need to carry on. Families have to carry on. The tendency to crawl into a shell when things get bad is the wrong thing to do.
Be thankful for God's protection through perhaps the roughest three years you have ever experienced. And carry on...
